Bring a document in from Files
Choose a PDF through the system document picker, or use Open in Private PDF where iOS offers it. A file in a cloud-backed Files location may first need to download through its provider. Once available to Private PDF, supported normal processing takes place on the device.
Read, edit, and finish the packet
Use the reader to check the source. Merge multiple PDFs, split a document, rotate pages, remove unwanted pages, or edit PDF text and scans. Review page order and text layout before sharing the result. Manual redaction has an explicit export workflow; an ordinary drawing placed over text is not a substitute for removing sensitive information.
On iPad, the layout responds to the current window width. Keep the app open during processing, review the new copy, and use the system save or share action to send it to your chosen destination. Retain the original when you need to preserve editable content or undo a later decision.
App Store purchases and restoration
Core free PDF workflows do not require Premium. Additional Premium tools include searchable PDF OCR, Bates numbering, bank statement extraction, and PDF comparison. Each Premium-labeled tool can finish five results on the device before a purchase is required.
The app offers lifetime and monthly Premium through Apple. The purchase sheet shows the current localized price, renewal terms, and eligible introductory offers. Use the app restore option with the Apple account associated with the purchase. Do not assume a Google Play purchase automatically provides an App Store entitlement.
Privacy and output review
Private PDF asks before enabling optional iOS analytics. Normal workflows do not upload document content for processing. Purchases, update checks, advertising, and support have separate network behavior described in the app privacy policy.
Always inspect the saved copy in the receiving app. OCR can misread scanned characters, compression can change image quality, and image-only redaction removes searchable text and interactive features. The appropriate review depends on the tool you used.
Before you download
Can I save the result back to Files?
Use the system save or share action after the PDF finishes. Choose an available Files location or receiving app, and open the saved copy to confirm it arrived.
Do I need Premium to merge or split a PDF?
No. Existing free merge and split workflows remain available. Premium applies to the additional tools and benefits described in the app.
